First and foremost, we are beer lovers!

Southern Oregon Brewing Company is an 11,000 sq. ft. craft brewery located in Medford, Oregon. We create our beers with a brand new, state of the art 20 barrel, four vessel stainless-steel brewing system manufacture in The Dalles, Oregon by AAA Metal Fabrication. Our initial equipment purchases will give us the ability to produce more than 2000 barrel/year with the fermentation and brite tanks being the limiting factor. Our 20 barrel brewhouse is capable of brewing more than 40,000 barrels/year. This is based on 6 brews per day, 7 days a week.  The purchase of additional fermentation and conditioning vessels will allow us to grow without replacing the brewhouse during the first 5-10 years. First year production will be approximately 600 barrels (one barrel = 31 gallons or two 15.5 gallon kegs). The management team intends to more than double our production to at least 1500 barrels the second year with 10-30% growth anticipated in years 3 through 5.

Southern Oregon Brewing Company is committed to being environmentally conscious. At this point we are doing what we can, but will implement more advanced measures as our finances allow. Examples of current practices include the donation of all our solid production waste (spent grains, yeast and trube) to local livestock and agricultural farmers.  We are minimizing our impact on the Rogue Valley’s water treatment system by being conscious of the pH and biological activity of our liquid wastes.   We recapture thermal energy with our heat exchanger system which helps reduce our need for natural gas and electricity.

Quality control is paramount to the consistent production of fine hand crafted beers in our brewery. Our onsite microbiology laboratory allows us to analyze the quality, purity and consistency of our products. Our lab also allows us to maintain a pure and healthy yeast library which helps us reliably make the beers you have grown to love the same way each time.
